Why do we love this whisky?

A pioneer of a new kind of whisky, Kujira innovates the grain whisky game by utilising rice, a cereal previously absent from whisky bills and more traditionally associated with other Japanese alcoholic beverages; shōchū & saké. This rice grain whisky, also called Ryukyu whisky, draws its name from the ancient kingdom of Okinawa. It calls upon the ancestral know-how of the Okinawa distilleries in the production of Awamori, made from long-grain indica rice, the oldest distilled alcoholic drink in Japan and uniquely indigenous to the area.
